Systematic Assessment of Line Loadability

This paper presents a systematic method for large utilities to verify and document limiting factors that affect the loadability of their transmission and/or distribution lines. This method is a natural evolution of the paper “Georgia Tech Conference – Automated Evaluation of PRC-023-2 Requirements” presented in 2013. It bypasses the need to use a specialized protection short circuit software by directly interfacing with the utilities’ relay setting repository, therefore greatly reducing the effort required to maintain a model for loadability evaluation.
