Nerc Prc-027-1 Compliance and Lessons Learned

The reliability standard NERC PRC-027-1 became effective April 1, 2021, and with it an increased burden of documentation as well as a deadline on re-evaluation of Bulk Electric System components by April 1, 2027. As this deadline approaches, it is prudent to examine the NERC PRC-027-1 standard language and share lessons learned on recent audits of NERC PRC-027-1 Requirements R1 and R3 from the perspective of different stakeholders. This paper shares lessons learned as well as guidance on proceeding with NERC PRC-027-1 Requirement R2 compliance ahead of the April 1, 2027 upcoming deadline for re-evaluation.
